The MBA equivalent course is the core of XIMEs management education programmes. This is a two year, full-time, residential programme. The programme follows a trimester system. The first year consists of required foundation courses. The second year consists of a few core courses, several electives, environmental courses and integrative courses. XIME proudly held the convocation of its first batch in 1997 and is gearing up for the graduation of the 15th batch in May 2011.
- Is revised once in two years in consultation with the industry, alumni, students and faculty.
- Entrepreneurship and International Business are core subjects.
- Business Ethics is a mandatory course.
- There is a course each on Emotional Quotient (EQ) and Leadership in Action; which include external training component.
- One foreign language among German, French, or Japanese is compulsory.
- Corporate internship is undertaken for on-the-job training.
- Socially Useful Productive Activity (SUPA) consisting of attachment to a service or agency in a rural area is a mandatory internship, to help students understand management issues in socio-economic development.

The First Year of the course starts with a coverage of Foundation Subjects which impart to the students a sound knowledge of the essential functional areas of business.
In the Second Year, the emphasis shifts to elective courses, which are designed to give the students as wide a choice as possible, to specialize in areas of their interest and acquire advanced knowledge and skills.
The programme rounds off with a strong emphasis on integrative and value-oriented courses such as Business Policy, Business Ethics and Environmental Issues so as to make the student not only a competent manager, but also a socially responsible citizen.
Considering the phenomenal growth and importance of IT industry, current topics related to IT are included in the programme.
A summer project spread over two months between the First and Second Years enables the students to put into practice many of the key concepts they will have learnt.
At the end of the programme the students would have developed:
- A strong knowledge base in all areas of management theory and practice.
- Key management skills and techniques.
- Confidence in analyzing and evaluating problems and taking decisions.
- Ability to think through issues and problems and see different angles involved as well as the integrated picture.
- A lively ethical concern.
The programme also aims at moulding the students as socially responsible and sensitive citizens, in addition to efficient corporate managers.
A variety of methods are used to teach students. Lecture sessions are supplemented with case studies, individual and team exercises, live projects, assignments, seminar presentations, business games, etc. Considerable emphasis is placed on team assignments, team discussions and teamwork.
Students are required to be on time for classes and regular in their attendance. 100 percent attendance in each course is expected of every student. Absence is permitted for reasons such as sickness, accidents, bereavements or officially assigned work. However, such absence should not exceed 10 percent in a course.
Applicant should have cleared ATMA / CAT / MAT /XAT with atleast 77 percentile marks
Candidates for XIME's Post Graduate Diploma in Management (PGDM) are required to have a bachelor's degree from a recognized university with a minimum aggregate of 50 % marks for all subjects taken together ( 45% for SC / ST Candidates).Candidates awaiting results can also apply .Such candidates are required to provide proof of passing the degree examination with the minimum required marks,atleast by September 30, 2010.

The programme fee (covering Admission, Tuition, Library, Computer Centre, Establishment,Text Books & Programme Materials, Examinations, Diploma, Activities and Alumni Association Membership and International tour) is to be paid in instalments as indicated below:

Students are expected to stay in the hostels, unelss exempted / excluded for any special reasons.
(a) Rs.6,000/- Caution Deposit which is refundable.
(b) Rs. 2,500/- towards establishment charges for the year.
(c) Rs.10,000/- towards rent for four months.
(d) Rs. 2,000/- towards water and electricity for four months.
(e) Rs. 11,000/- towards mess for four months (Only actuals will be charged.)

Admission to hostel must be taken after paying the hostel fees by DD on or before September 9, 2010. DD should be made in favour of ‘XIME Hostel A/c’ payable at Bangalore. The second instalment of hostel and mess fees of Rs 22,500 must be paid by January 4, 2011.
Rs. 3,00,000 : Payable in four instalments (Rs. 75,000, 75,000, 75,000 and 75,000) Dates for payment of fees will be announced at the beginning of the year.
The Hostel Fees payable by each student will be approximately Rs. 57,500 for the second year which includes lodging, boarding, electricity and water charges.
It is necessary for every student to possess a laptop PC. The institute will happy to arrange for the supply of the same, ensuring the required feature specifications of XIME. Alternatively the students can arrange for the same themselves . The cost of the laptop is estimated to be about Rs.35,000.
Note
- Fees must be paid on time. Delayed payments will attract penalty.
- Fees once paid are not refundable.
Even in the case of a students failure / termination or withdrawal from the programme, no refund of fees will be made.
The Administration of Xavier Institute of Management and Entrepreneurship reserves the right to make any changes in the requirement and regulations for admission, regulations for continuing in the course or for graduation, contents of the courses, fees charged, regulations affecting students, programme administration, or make any suitable modifications in any provision of the course syllabus,hostel admissions or in any matter incidental or ancillary thereto, should these be deemed necessary in the interest of the students, the institute, or the profession. All matters of dispute shall be subject to the Jurisdiction of Courts of the City of Bangalore.

Absence without prior permission is not permitted.
A minimum attendance of 90% is required for every course in the programme.
Performance in each course is evaluated separately. It is based on a continuous and multifaceted system of periodic quizzes, class tests, midterm tests, home assignments, class performance and end-term written examination.
As a general rule, the final end-term examination is not given more than 50% weightage in deciding the grade of a course. The grading system is as follows:

A minimum standard of academic performance is required on the part of the student, to qualify for the award of the diploma.
The minimum CGPA of 4.5 required for the promotion from first year to second year and an CGPA of 5 (Average of B grade) required at the end of the second year to be awarded the PGDM.
Every student is given an opportunity to work with an NGO or government organization in a field relating to social welfare so as to enable him / her to understand its activities and to make a contribution to the organization through the application of modern management concepts.
This programme is aimed at orienting the students to become socially responsible and sensitive citizens.
The students go through well-planned and structured projects in the industry during their course at XIME. The Summer Project will be at the end of their first year for a period of 2 months
Under these programmes, students are required to work with organizations in a functional area or department of their choice: Human Resources, Finance, Marketing, International Business and Operations.
The Internship Programme gives students hands-on experience with regard to the functional characteristics of the area in which they may intend to specialize in their managerial career besides an overview of the organization.
Recognizing the importance of EQ (Emotional Intelligence) in a successful career as Manager, the Institute offers a full course in EQ, spread over the fifth term.
This is another dimension of the PGDM programme that has been designed to let the students incorporate the ethical aspects as part of their decision making process.
With the emphasis given to international business, which includes a course in Comparative Management Systems, XIME requires students to learn at least one foreign language.
Currently, the choice is among the following three languages: German, French and Japanese.
The students are also taught the cultural aspects of doing business in some of the leading countries.
New ventures fuel the growth of modern economies.
The vital role that the entrepreneurial mind can play in our economy is amply reflected in XIME's offer a course in Entrepreneurship as part of the PGDM curriculum.
The concept of Learning Circles has been introduced for the PGDM II students, under the supervision of senior faculty members of XIME. The objective of this programme is to develop the overall personality of the students and to prepare them for life beyond the portals of the institute.
The students of XIME have always displayed an enthusiasm to compete, learn and keep themselves abreast of the changing environment.
